Neal Elyakin has a rich, diverse background, including living in Michigan, New York, and Israel. He obtained his BA in education from MSU in 1983, with a Special Education Certification. He earned a Masters of Education from EMU in 1989. He began working with the WISD in 1995 as a teacher with EI students at High Point School. In 2002, Neal obtained a Supervisor of Special Education from GVSU.
In his 22 year tenure with WISD, Neal has held several positions in Special Education Administration in four districts within Washtenaw County. He is a valuable and insightful addition to COPE's Board of Directors.
