Sam Stern is entering his third year as a student at the University of Michigan. Sam is studying History and Psychology and plans to pursue a career in social work or special education for the emotionally and socially impaired. Sam first became involved with COPE as a tutor with the Project Outreach program at the University of Michigan. Sam returned to COPE the following semester as a Project Outreach group leader. Sam was born and raised in Ann Arbor, graduating from Pioneer H.S. Sam has experience in group facilitation and peer guidance, is currently a coach for the TOP Soccer program (a soccer program provided by the Ann Arbor Youth Soccer Association for children with minor to severe mental and physical impairments), and recently worked as a substitute Teacher’s Assistant in a special education classroom at Pioneer High School.
