Center for Occupational
and Personalized Education

The Center for Occupational & Personalized Education (COPE) was a 501(c)(3) non-profit alternative educational program located in Washtenaw County, Michigan, dedicated to helping students experiencing difficulty in traditional schools to achieve success in academics and conflict management enabling them to achieve positive goals in the home, school, and community. COPE serves middle school and high school students.

Due to funding constraints the 2011/12 school year was COPE’s final year.  After 40 years of serving the youth of Washtenaw County, we are closing our doors.

If you are searching for an alternative education program, we advise you to contact the Superintendent’s office of your local school district and request help.  If you feel that the local district is not responsive to your needs, you may wish to contact the Student Advocacy Center.

We want to wish the best to all of our former students.  We want to thank the staff that have worked so hard for so many years.  And we want to thank the community that allowed us the honor to make a difference.
