Welcome students! This is the first time in the history of COPE that students have their OWN space on our website. If you are new to COPE or thinking about coming here, there is some information for you. If you've been here a while and want to show off, we've got space for you too. We encourage you to give us feedback- this is YOUR space, help us make it work for you.

NEW STUDENT INFORMATION

COPE is:

• An Opportunity - a chance to have your say about your education.
• Small Classes
• No Homework - time and help to get your work done in class.
• Get Respect/ Give Respect
• Caring teachers
• Your decision - Come here because you want to. Not sure yet? Give us a try. We have had many students who didn’t want to come to COPE at first, who don’t want to leave now!

Questions you might have:
• What kind of kids go there? All kinds! Is COPE for “bad” kids? Absolutely not! COPE is an opportunity. Not every student needs the same things to succeed. COPE is not a punishment, it is a chance. We even have kids come here because they ask to.
• Will I know anyone? Possibly. We have students from every school district in the county. Even if you don’t, students usually find friends fast here, because we are a new place for everyone and old cliques don’t exist.
• Is it safe? Because of our small classes, we actually have FEWER problems than many public schools. We can see problems coming faster, and we can jump in faster.
• How long will I be at COPE? It depends on lots of things, but mostly on you. It depends on if you want to go back to your home school, and if you have shown us and your home school you’re ready to go back. An average length of time would be one or two semesters.
• Is the schedule the same? It depends on your school district. We’ll be happy to answer any questions about your particular circumstances when you call or come by

Our Expectations:

• Show up
• Make an honest effort
• Respect those around you
